HCAP Featured in Pacific Business News for #GivingTuesday

HCAP would like to thank Lorin Eleni Gill at Pacific Business News for mentioning HCAP’s #GivingTuesday Campaign. Here’s a quote from the article:
Many Hawaii nonprofits will join the campaign, including The Honolulu Community Action Program, which is part of a national network of community action agencies, and runs the Head Start preschool program in Hawaii. Last year, HCAP reached its funding goal of $1,000 through the campaign. This year, as part of their #GivingTuesday efforts, HCAP is also embracing the trending #Unselfie hashtag on Instagram, which asks individuals to post photos of themselves with signs that explain how they give back to their community.
However, the organization’s social media efforts will not be restricted to one day.
“In the days leading up to Dec. 2, we’re trying to do a campaign to show the different things you can do to give and contribute,” said Michael Hane, Director of planning, program development and communications at HCAP. “It’s all to highlight and showcase what we do here on daily basis.” Over the next few weeks, HCAP will highlight their youth services programs and events on social media to encourage more acts of selflessness.
