2014 A Year in Review

The Hā Initiative: Creative STEM After-School Program
200+ students attended the program each month at HCAP’s 4 STEM Exploration Centers

Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
764 low-income people were assisted with free tax preparation services, bringing over $1.2 million dollars in refunds into the community

HCAP Head Start
1,727 children ages 3-5 participated in Head Start pre-school activities to develop school readiness skills

Kumuhonua Transitional Living Center
166 homeless individuals, and individuals at-risk for homelessness received safe, affordable transitional housing and support services

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
5,540 households received assistance for utility payments

Na Lima Hana- Employment Core Services
288 unemployed or under-employed clients attended job-readiness training and obtained employment

Ohana Produce
6,757 individuals were provided with food assistance

Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)
197 unemployed seniors aged 55 and older received meaningful part-time subsidized job training

Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)
12 housing units were preserved or improved through weatherization services; including home energy audits, conservation education, and installation of energy-efficient devices

Youth Services
51 students received their Competency Based High School Diploma
